MATH CENTER NUMBERS 0-10 WORD SEARCHES

(0)
MATH CENTER NUMBERS 0-10 ACTIVITIES -ideal for math centers and independent learning. Word searches a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word, practicing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. The set features five differentiated word searches, focusing on high-frequency words : Numbers 0-10, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. The searches offer a really useful learning opportunity - consolidating not only new words and vocabulary (numbers), but also working on reading, writing, spelling and literacy skills in general. Learners are able to identify which direction words are located in within the grid by referring to the arrow key. For additional consolidation, they also rewrite each number in the word column. There are also two question and answer key grid templates for learners to create their own searches for each other — this is a really popular activity, and I’ve found that my learners often like to create grids for family at home too. The templates enable learners to apply their language practically and creatively, which is really important at this stage of literacy development. There is an answer grid for each word search, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it! For me, answer keys are essential, as they not only provide learners with another opportunity to engage with language, but they also help them develop more independence in their learning. They’re also a great teacher time-saver - a real bonus! The word searches are in landscape format, mirroring the common direction of reading and writing from left to right, facilitating learner engagement with the activity. The landscape format is also really useful for learners whose first language is written from right to left. There is a single grid per 8.5 x 11 (A4) sheet - I like to ensure that text is accessible to all learners - and at this stage of their learning, it’s absolutely essential that language looks accessible and manageable. Have a look at this Math Center Numbers 0-10 word search freebie - it’s the same format as these word searches, and you can see if they will suit your learners: MATH CENTER ACTIVITIES : NUMBERS 0-10 WORD SEARCH FREEBIE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/math-center-numbers-0-10-word-search-freebie-12660553 Please note this is the Math Center edition of my ESL / EFL Numbers 0-10 word searches. MATH CENTER NUMBERS 0-100 Ten differentiated word searches with answer keys a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word, practicing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This set features ten differentiated word searches, focusing on Numbers 0-100, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. The searches offer a really useful learning opportunity - enabling learners to engage with the target numbers vocabulary, but also aligning with cross-curricular learning - working on comprehension and arithmetic skills in general. Learners are able to identify which direction words are located in within the grid by referring to the arrow key. As they move through the grids, their skills are challenged in a range of ways - from straightforward vocabulary searching, to gap-fill, scrambled letters and sentence questions, which feature mathematical language. Hyphens are really important in English numbers, and the grids feature these quite clearly, in order to ensure that learners can practice this aspect of language. There is an answer grid for each word search, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. For me, answer keys are essential, as they not only provide learners with another opportunity to engage with language, but they also help them develop more independence in their learning. They’re also a great teacher time-saver - a real bonus! There is a single word search per page, portrait format. I like to ensure that text is accessible to all learners—and at this stage of their learning, it’s absolutely essential that language looks accessible and manageable. There are two formats to choose from - the search grids and answer keys as separate worksheets, and also a file with both grids and answer keys together, so that you can print each grid and key double-sided, according to which suits your classroom needs better. LATIN NUMBERS 1-10 WORD SEARCHES

LATIN FOR CHILDREN BEGINNER LATIN NUMBERS 1-10 10 differentiated word searches with answer keys focusing on Latin Numbers 1-10 ideal for beginner Latin learners of all ages - I’ve found that word searches are the ideal activity for young and beginner students of Latin to engage with the written word in Latin, at the same time developing essential beginner Latin vocabulary. They are easily differentiated - and the grids have an increasing level of challenge, to ensure that all students can feel confident about their learning - and lots of chances to keep challenging themselves. I’ve indicated the direction the words are located in the grid with arrows. The word searches are really versatile, and I use them in lots of different learning contexts, such as starter and refresher activities, fun-time fillers, sub lessons, or free-choice activity at any time during the school year. There are five Latin-Latin grids - the prompt words are in Latin, and the grid words are also in Latin. Each grid is progressively more challenging. There are also five English-Latin grids - the prompt word is in English, and students have to find the Latin equivalent in the grid. On each grid there’s a number list they have to complete too for extra practice. Each grid is on 8.5 x 11 (A4) landscape format - this format has always worked best for my beginner Latin learners. PRIMARY FRENCH IMMERSION FRENCH FOR CHILDREN FRENCH IMMERSION BEGINNER FRENCH INTERMEDIATE FRENCH TASK CARDS 13 sets of task cards @ $1.50 each in the bundle. All files are non-editable in zipped formats. The bundle is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed, in whole or in part, outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-use license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. Task cards are an ideal language learning activity, providing multi-skill language learning opportunities. These sets are ideal for a range of French language grades. This kind of activity really does help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their French language skills in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The differentiated questions have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarise themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling in French in general, and on the focus language, for example, conjugating French RE verbs in the present tense in particular. I use task not only when we’re focusing on the focus language and grammar, but also for sub lessons, as an all-year-round starter, plenary and general ‘pick-me-up’ activity. The goal is not simply to learn how French works, and how patterns can be identified and applied, it’s also about enjoying working with French, and to feel confident about doing so. The questions are differentiated, and range in complexity and challenge, with some calling specifically upon prior and new knowledge too, helping students make links and build bridges in their learning. There may be some vocabulary that students are not familiar with - these questions give them the opportunity to learn and apply new language too. Other grammatical concepts are addressed in the questions too, such as gender agreement, direct and indirect objects, personal pronouns and question formats in French. The question card template available in some sets enables students to apply their knowledge practically and creatively, which is an essential element to successful language learning. To get the most from the questions, I frequently look at the multiple-choice questions as a whole-group, identifying not only why there is a single correct response, but what the errors are in the other choices. Identifying errors, and explaining precisely why something is inaccurate or incorrect, helps students to think about language a little more laterally, and ensures that they are thinking concepts through, rather than simply relying on learned responses. All sets have full answer keys and recording sheets. There are 36 differentiated questions, answer key, recording sheet and number reference sheet. The cards have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling, and really help students develop more independence in their learning, moving away from more teacher-led tasks and activities. There’s also a question card template for students to apply language creatively and practically, which is an essential aspect of successful language learning, and is also a really popular activity with my students. Task cards are really versatile too - we use them not only when we’re focusing on the target vocabulary, but throughout the year for sub lessons, as entrance and exit tickets, refreshers and free-choice learning. The goal is not simply to learn and practice how to count in French, but also to enjoy working with language, and to feel confident about doing so. The questions range in complexity and challenge, ensuring a scaffolded learning experience for students. All the questions are in French, including a range of French math language. Students may not necessarily engage with that at this stage of their learning, so I use math symbols as visual clues and prompts, enabling students to infer meaning from context. This is a key language learning skill in general, which is important for students to develop as quickly as possible. The resource comprises the following non-editable files in a zipped format: 36 differentiated question cards 4 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. Print, laminate and cut out. Laminating is definitely worth the extra prep time and expense, as they cards are far more learner-friendly, and last for absolutely years answer recording sheet we mostly use class notebooks for recording answers, as this saves prep time and paper, though recording sheets are really useful for more formal assessment purposes answer key helps students develop more independence in, and responsibility for, their learning, and also give them an additional opportunity to engage with language question card template students apply their knowledge practically and creatively, which is an essential element in successful language learning number reference sheet MERCI BEAUCOUP ET BON APPRENTISSAGE !

FSL FLE FRENCH FOR CHILDREN TELLING TIME BEGINNER FRENCH ADVANCED BEGINNER FRENCH TELLING TIME ANALOG CLOCK TIMES THREE SETS OF 60 TASK CARDS @ $1.95 EACH All files are non-editable, in a zipped format. They are copyright, all rights reserved. They may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. These 180 task cards are perfect for developing French language skills in general, as well as for practicing and revising how to tell time in French - each of the three sets has 60 cards, divided into two sets of 30 questions, full answer key and a recording sheet. The cards have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling, and really help students develop more independence in their learning, moving away from more teacher-led tasks and activities. Task cards are really versatile too - I use them not only when we’re focusing on the target vocabulary and structures, but throughout the year for sub lessons, and as starters and refreshers. The goal is not simply to learn and practice how to tell time in French, but also to enjoy working with language, and to feel confident about doing so. I use these cards not only with my elementary French learners, but also my older beginner French learners. The questions are a straightforward introduction to, and consolidation of, a range of analog clock times for both beginner French students and those who have already been introduced to the basics of telling time in French. They’re also a good introduction to working and learning with task cards - I generally work with numbers quite quickly with my beginner language students, and move on to task card activities as soon as I can, so that they can develop independent and collaborative learning skills. There are two questions: Quelle heure est-il ? with a particular clock face, and students write the response on their recording sheet or in their workbooks. The second question is Vrai ou faux ? and students write either vrai or faux - where the answer is faux, remind students to write the correct time for additional consolidation. Set 1 focuses on o’clock & half past the hour, Set 2 on quarter to & quarter past the hour and Set 3 on a range of analog clock times. I print each set out on different color paper so that they’re easily identifiable. The cards are numbered 1-60 in words, so students should recap those numbers before they work with the task cards. Download lists of French Numbers 0-100 for free in my store. The question card template enables students to apply their knowledge of language and time creatively and practically, which is an essential element of successful language learning. My students really enjoy creating cards for each other, so it’s a really popular activity too. Each set comprises the following non-editable files: 60 question cards, 6 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. Print, laminate and cut out. Depending on how long you want the activity to last for, choose a particular number of cards per small group of students, and place them in a tin, bowl or small box so that students can easily select a card, and then replace at the end of the activity. You can simply place all the cards in the bowl/box and let students work their way through, either in a single lesson, or across a series of lessons. 2-page answer recording sheet - I tend to use recording sheets for more formal assessment purposes, and have my students use their class workbooks to note their answers when we’re using the task cards as a more general learning activity 2-page answer key - answer keys are an integral element to the learning activity. They offer students and additional opportunity to engage with language, and develop more independence in their learning. They’re also a great teacher time-saver, which is always a good thing! Have a browse in my store for more French task cards, and a wide range of other French teaching and learning materials, with dollar deals, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies too - I’ve included a couple here for you to try. LATIN FOR CHILDREN BEGINNER LATIN NUMBERS ROMAN NUMERALS DISPLAY WORD WALL These word wall cards are great for creating an instant introduction to Latin numbers and Roman Numerals 1-20. I really like to have key vocabulary displayed in a particular area - I find it gives the learning environment a real language ‘feel’ and ‘look’, keeping the language alive every day - and of course the word wall cards are useful during the introduction phase, and we also use them for developing language skills and awareness in general. We like to do number guessing and calculation games at regular intervals too. My younger learners enjoy taking their mini-whiteboards or notepads, and doing Latin vocabulary or calculation race games at the word wall. There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format - the words are definitely big enough for children to be able to read from various location in the classroom. There are two backgrounds to choose from - color or black wave. MATH CENTER NUMBERS 0-10 WORD SEARCH FREEBIE

(1)
MATH CENTER WORD SEARCH NUMBERS 0-10 Word searches a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word, practicing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This is a free word search, focusing on Numbers 0-10. The search offers a really useful learning opportunity - consolidating not only new numbers, but also working on reading, writing, spelling and literacy skills in general - children often focus on the arithmetic skills involved with numbers, but it’s just as important to work on consolidating the written words too. It’s ideal for both math centers, as a fun-time filler as well as a targeted practice of the written numbers themselves. Word searches are easily differentiated, with opportunity to increase challenge gradually, and learners have to look very carefully at letters, and how words are constructed to complete the grid. They are able to identify which direction words are located in within the grid by referring to the arrow key. Here, for additional consolidation, they also rewrite each number in the word column. There is an answer grid for the word search, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it! For me, answer keys are essential, as they not only provide learners with another opportunity to engage with language, but they also help them develop more independence in their learning. They’re also a great teacher time-saver - a real bonus! The word search is in landscape format, mirroring the common direction of reading and writing in English from left to right, facilitating learner engagement with the activity. The landscape format is also really useful for learners whose first language is written from right to left. There is a single grid per 8.5 x 11 (A4) sheet - I like to ensure that text is accessible to all learners, and at this stage of their learning, it’s absolutely essential that language looks accessible and manageable. PRIMARY FRENCH IMMERSION BEGINNER FRENCH FOR CHILDREN TELLING TIME ANALOG HALF PAST THE HOUR LIST WITH MATCHING CLOCK FACES The resource is non-editable in a zipped format. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom. The license is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of French, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell time. Children glue the lists into their French vocabulary books, or file them in their French vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful French vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning. For young and / or beginner French learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows half past the hour on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to French prefer this. When I’m sure that students are confident with o’clock, I then move on to additional time sets.
